Is anyone here going to see the Six in London in December? I used to post in this community when I was younger (ah bless my hormone-fueled teenage days) and now that I live in London (and am definitely over 18!) I am intending to go.
I got my ticket for Oxford this December! Anyone else here going to see them this year? Anyone already seen them? How they doing?
Also does anyone else think that the new album is quite brooding? I only got it a few days ago and I'm still getting in to it, but so far Escape from Ohio is great. Do you have a favourite yet?
so here i was, dancing round me lab (as no one else is in to laff at me) to my new E6 cd...Flashy (autographed!!! **swoon**)...thinking, my gawd, these fellas were bloody maarlevus live. so then i goes to the E6 website to check if they will be touring round 'ere again, i finds me this link, and so I be doing wot the good man said, and I am here to testify that this band is funkin' FUNTASTIC live..
went to their first EVER show in CT, ( in Lame Ass Milford...sorry guyz, New London is way more groovy..)...also went to rocks off concert last year in NYC (Tragedy...heavy metal tribute to the bee gees, was opening act...frickin' HILARIOUSLY brilliant) ...that one was a bit in the insane side as not much room to mosh on a boat and the crowd seemed to be attempting to crush the band... CT show was stooopendus, only wish i didnt get sooo obnoxiously drunk as i dont remember too much and it was over too fast!! but then again, I dont get out much as I have kids!! ( i think i mentioned that to DV at the end of the show as i got to shake hands w/the band, but I only managed to say lame stuff too like...you guyz are brill (duh...of course) btw, my offsprings also lurve E6, at the ages of 7 and 5.... coolest kids EV-RR.
guess thats it, glad to get it off my chest!! Don't give up on CT lads, there are a few of us ex-NYCers up here XX
I recently went to see Electric Six in Cardiff and it was the best gig of theirs I've been too ever I think. Mainly because it was a nice small intimate venue full of fans and not tossers shouting gay bar all the time. The atmosphere wonderful. The fact that afterwards I got a knackered drum stick was just an added bonus.
I've past the point now where I could meet Dick Valentine and still say anything interesting. Every time I had the feeling he was looking at me I could only grin and feel like like an idiot for doing so. I now understand why people say you should never meet your heroes. If I ever meet Dick, I will only make a fool of myself.
Seeing Dick on stage adds a lot to the E6 fan experience. His inter song ramblings are bizarre and funny as any of his lyrics. This time he insisted that he "voted for Obama because he promised to finally do something about Wales." He also claimed that their drummer (Precession World)was from Straw Dogs in Wales and that he Hated Dustin Hoffman and that he was going to rip us a drum solo by pretending that the drums were Dustin Hoffman's face. There were more than I can remember. I should have written about them sooner. But oh well.
Their last gig earlier this year was a disappointment. Add to that my ever so slight decrease in opinion of their last two albums, compared to their first three, and my opinion of the band as a whole had been lowered which made me quite sad. But this gig, this one sublime electric experience has re-elevated my love for this most unique of bands. Again I have no hesitation in saying that Electric Six are by far my favourite band.
"There is an American guy and an English guy. They live in Brooklyn and work in Tribeca. They live in Brooklyn, where they have fallen prey to various influences. Latin influences. Black influences. White influences. They work in Tribeca where they have fallen prey to various influences. Douchebag influences. Songs will be coming in due time. Also there are negotiations to do a remake of The Parent Trap starring the members of Evil Cowards as the children with Robert Loggia and Catherine Deneuve as the parents and then it will drop on YouTube!!!!!!!!!!!! Album and live shows coming in 2009. Parent Trap remake shortly afterwards"
I've heard a preview of all the tracks on the new album, I think this one is going to take a while to grow on me. I prefer blatant synthgasms to guitar solos. However I freely admit 'Feed My Habit' really is just sex on a plate.....
Holy shit, guys. They did it AGAIN. Another amazing album. Not only do they rhyme "shinola" with "granola," they rock ass with the fires of Hell as usual. My favorite band of all-time, Electric Six yet again prove their righteousness in the sea of rock.
Stay tuned for my synopsis/review of the album's sixteen(16) tracks!
I am looking to form an all-female tribute band to Electric Six. Bass is already taken, but I still need an additional 5 musicians and anyone who wants to get up and dance on stage.
Hey, fellow fans. Is anyone coming to the Electric Six homecoming show May 12th at St. Andrew's? That Saturday just happens to be my 21st birthday. I know I'll be there! My favorite band on my favorite birthday in my favorite city. Hope to run into some new friends!
The show at the Middle East last Wednesday was awesome. The best part, however, was that Dick Valentine's fly was unzipped! My friend and I were totally staring at his crotch for the ENTIRE SHOW!
I just found this E6 LJ group and I had to join. I fucking LOVE Electric Six. They are my favorite band of all time, and I one day aspire to have a kick ass E6 tattoo somewhere. I'm up for making friends and chatting about E6 or anything really. I'm mad into Hunter S. Thompson and Adult Swim if anyone is interested in waxing on about those things.
I can't wait to see the E6 in Providence and then the next night in Boston. Any fans from the Southeastern New England area, hit me up. I'd love to chat.
Quickly put this together for my brother's birthday (long story, there). I realize it could be synched much better in some areas, but I think the places it does synch well more than makes up for that. When I have some time to spare, I will try to make it perfect. ;)
